Manipulation Under Anesthesia (MUA)
Manipulation Under Anesthesia or MUA is a non-invasive, highly specialized technique performed by Steven J. Pollack, D.C. It is an effective alternative to risky and invasive spinal and joint surgery. Studies prove that MUA eliminates or greatly reduces pain and restores or greatly improves normal range of motion.
MUA can be an effective procedure for those with chronic neck, back and joint problems including pain and restricted motion.
These include:
- Fibrous Adhesion
- Pain From Chronic Disc Problems
- Herniated Discs (Without Fragmentation)
- Fibromyalgia
- Torticollis
- Frozen Shoulder
- Frozen Hip
- Chronic Headaches
- Cervicogenic Headaches
- Failed Back Surgery
- Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
- Tarsal Tunnel Syndrome
- TMJ
- Plantar Fascitis
MUA achieves results because it allows the doctor to adjust/manipulate the bones and muscles without the usual resistance. Twilight sedation (light sedation) allows the patient to be responsive but not apprehensive.
